Glass coating pika pika rain that is the most popular in Japan

2 years passed after the car detailer applied hydrophilic coating to my brand new car.

I thought
“I have to reapply coating, but if I ask to the car detailer,
the expenses will be around 100,000 JPY…
Okay, I should save the money by applying by myself!”

Then I reached to Pika Pika Rain which has good reputations in the Internet.
I did car washing, removing the iron fills and polishing as the preparation,
and finally I applied glass coating!

I spent 3 hours for car washing (maybe I was reluctant to wash it…),
1 hour for applying to the car body and 1 hour for applying the wheels.

I started to wash a car from 3 pm, so when I moved to the application, it was getting dark.
Therefore, it was difficult to fine whether I applied it or not
and whether I applied it evenly or not… for a while, I finished it.
(Yes, I really did well!)

As the instruction said, applying small areas which is dived the car body is better than applying at once.
The weather forecast said the next day will be rainy, so I was relieved that I could finished it safely.

Okay, come on rainy days!
How the water repellency show me!
Normally rainy days make me depressed, but this time I was excited it.

The next day, it was rainy according to the water forecast.
I had something to do by my car, so I decided to check its effect!

It was difficult to find the water repellency during driving,
but I checked my car when I parked it , I could find water drops repellency as I had expected!

Yes, yes, I have been waiting this!

After raining, there were no water drops on the car body.
Moreover, the reflected scenery on the car body was so beautiful!

The gloss was so shiny!
It was the shine like just washed a car even though I didn’t wipe the water!

…I know that it is just self-satisfaction.
Applying by car detailers is should be nice if I have money.

However, if I found the effect of glass coating by myself, I like my car much more!
(The cost was one tenth!)

I applied Pika Pika Rain PREMIUM to my brand new car on Febuary 2017.
I decided to apply by myself because I couldn’t feel the effect of application by the detailer even though it was expensive.

I searched about it and I thought it was expensive, but I chose Pika Pika Rain because it contains SiO2.
SiO2 is a good material for finishing which is my hobby, too. It is one of main materials of a fishing rod and it is strong for the seawater.

In a fine water day, I washed my car, opened the doors to dry and applied Pika Pika Rain PREMIUM.
Its sponge was small, but it spread very well and I could find whether I applied or not while applying.
Also I can wipe with microfiber cloth immediately, so wiping was much easier than car wax.

However, just I could not find the result of scratches and the gloss due to the brand new car.
I used half a bottle which was appropriate amount as they said.

I kept it in the multistory car park and I for 13 days
and I compared with each conditions in similar weather, temperature and time.

First of all, I checked it in detail and then I found the place where I forgot to wipe.
There have already harden, so there might be one choice to solve it.

Moreover, there were some areas water spots which is in the glass layer.
Both of them were not so remarkable, so I decided to leave them.

However, I reflected on why I didn’t move my car and checked it by many angles under the sunlight.

About comparison the water repllency, before and after the application Pika Pika Rain PREMIUM, I did it on the vertical area and splashed the water with a spray type to find the differences easily.
Then I could find the water flowed equally and quickly on the new car paint surface.
From this, I think that it will be blown up by wind pressure when I drive.

But I agree with it looks like the layer of glass.

I want to expect its durability from now, because it is SiO2 which is strong for sands and the dirt.

I applied Pika Pika Rain PREMIUM.
It was my first time to apply glass coating like Pika Pika Rain.

It spread very well, so I could applied it well, too.
My image which the glass coating is easy to fail changed.

About the half of a bottle remained for around the car bodies and wheels.
I think that this is enough to apply for a bib-size car.

This was my second time to apply coating and the last time I asked to the carb detailer 2 years ago.
I forgot the name of coating, but it might be “Glass-Neo”..
The preparation was removing iron fillings, water spots and the oil only, without polishing,
so the former coating might not be removed.
Therefore, my car looked glossy a little before the application of Pika Pika Rain.
Water spots which cannot be removed were noticeable.

The comparing is difficult from the pictures which I took by my mobile phone,
however, I think that the gloss deeper than before the application.
The difference is patently obviously if you look it actually.

The gloss was is more glare than former coating.
Also it is nice because remained water spots are covered with Pika Pika Rain PREMIUM.

Unfortunately, it was caught rain 12 hours later.
There were only mud spatters and which I couldn’t remove.
However, it was removed by splashing and wiping easily.
Rain dripping on the doors were as well.

I think it is so good when I can remove them only by wiping with microfiber cloth.
Last time was very hard even though car detailers wash them with car shampoo.

The water repellency is smoother than before.
On the flat side like a bonnet, the water is sliding slowly,
but, vertical part such as a bumper is sliding with a thump.

I was very satisfied that I applied Pika Pika Rain this time.
Looking forward to its durability.
Another days, I will buy Nano Pika Pika Rain – car detailing spray- and take care of my car regularly.

My car is 30 years old even though its traveling distance is not so long 2km,
so the gloss many scratches and I think that I want to deal with them.

Professional car detailers is expensive far beyond my means and
I have been trying to other DIY glass coating products, but I’ve never satisfied with all of them.

This time, I decided to try Pika Pika Rain PREMIUM because this has good reputations in the Internet.

I washed my car, removed the oil and other substances, dried the water with wiping and using the air blow and finally I applied it carefully.

It spread very well and the work is easier than I thought.
The gloss was clearly different between the parts where I applied or not.
Also it made scratches less noticeable.

The heat resistance is high, so I applied it to the cover of exhaust manifold which is a symbol of GST-R.

The one third of a bottle remained, so I’m going to reapply it after 2 weeks.
I was worried that I could apply it as you know my car is so old,
but in the end, I was satisfied with the result.

My job is car maintenance man, so I can recommend this product as DIY car glass coating to my customers.

I applied Pika Pika Rain PREMIUM to my car, MAZDA MPV 2007 model.

When I was undecided whether to by Hyper (hydrophobic) or Super (hydrophilic)
for the car body which has been parking outside for 8 years,
I heard that PREMIUM had been go on sale, so I chose it to apply.

– The process
The first day, I washed my car, removed iron fillings and removed water spots as the preparation.
However, the 8 years old car body was still dull and not so glossy even though I did these preparations.

The second day, I washed my car again, applied the oil remover and finally I could apply Pika Pika Rain PREMIUM.

-The application
This product spread very well.
I was worried whether this small bottle is enough, but it can apply whole of a car.
Also a sponge which is cut in small size can apply glass coating to small parts, too.
I like the simple and easy steps, only applying and wiping.

-After the application
It was totally different in the gloss and I could found it immediately.
I think that it is “the deep gloss”.
(I’m sorry that it is difficult to find it from photos.)
There are about 20 cars in the car park, but my car is the shiniest even when viewed in the favorable light.

-In the future
I will apply it again 2 weeks later.
The two-thirds of glass coating is left over, so I will apply it to the car body and the wheels.
Also I’m going to with Nano Pika Pika Rain Type-K which I bought with it.

-A comparison
The workability is much better than any other products which I tried before.
Also the gloss is the best.
I haven’t confirmed the results in rainy days yet because there were not heavy rainy days.
So I’m looking forward to seeing the “water-sliding power”…haha!

-My Expectation
It should be an ultimate product if it can keep its effect for 3 years.

-Others
I can recommend Pika Pika Rain PREMIUM.
I think that there is the value to try it for the old car body.
My neighborhoods said that my car is so beautiful.
I’m so glad.
